Demand for Premium Seating
So I was bored last night and counted how many donors were in the top groups vs. last year.

Here's the breakdown:
10,000+ Last year. 5 This Year 7
5,000-9,999. Last Year 8 This year 17
2,500-4,999. Last year 31. This year. 56
2,499-1,000 Last year. 153. This year 196

Another great job by Sean Frazier! There seems to be more high roller money coming in. If they plan that loge seating, I'll find a way to buy one. And there's still 3 months left for HAF to take in more donations for basketball premium seating

Keep in mind that 95% of the money comes from only 5% of the donors.
NIU makes their money by targeting this small select group of donors. Frazier wants to keep this group very happy and cultivate future donations. Us $100 donors are not going to have buildings named for us.

Honestly, niu is lucky to have 3-4 families that are super high rollers and give to the program. That's how they've built these facilities and program.

We don't have the mass numbers of "smaller" donors, but our group of large donors can compete with quite a few programs, because they are so loyal.

Need to get the mass numbers up and keep the small group of 5 very happy.

I completely agree but it is a very good sign 79 donors took their donation to the next level of of at least 1000+

That's definitely a good sign. I'm not currently, donating. But I'm expecting to start giving soon. I'm torn between amount and portion to College of Business and athletics.

Guess it's a good battle to have, knowing you want to give back but figuring out correct allocation.

It would be interesting to see a breakdown by age.. Because eventually the big money donors die and need to be replaced by younger ones

It's nice to see numbers going up, especially at the higher levels, but those stats can be a little misleading. Remember they changed what counts towards donations this year, and if you have premium seating that now counts toward your total. For instance, if you gave $750 last year and hold 4 premium seats ($400) your total last year was $750 but this year it is now $1150.

This would be reflected in your increase that you are showing. It would certainly be less evident at higher levels, but it may make up a large part of the lower level increases.

That's right, get half naked and start digging 'til you turn blue.

ALL OF YOU. NOW!
