UALR better have a better reason to fire him, or he will sue their butts off. Dr. Anderson has to have more than an alleged comment at a soccer game that was heard by, what, the 10 fans who were there.

I'd like to see the person he was allegedly referring to!

Maybe you are right MJS, but maybe not. Litigation has a way of exposing a lot of stuff, and maybe Peterson really doesn't want too close a look at how things have been run.

Obviously, if Dr. Anderson is really trying to fire Chris this is just the straw that broke the camel's back. Chris' alleged comments were certainly inappropriate, but wouldn't lead to the firing of an AD that the chancellor wanted to keep around. I think an apology and the thing would be over with. If rumors of a firing are remotely accurate, this has to be just the tip of the iceberg.

He cracked a smile. I asked him if he was at the game. He said no but was told about it by a girl who was.

If this is accurate, then the story seems to be more credible. And if it's all over campus, then it's probably pretty accurate. If it's true, it's sad, although I know some of you will rejoice at the possibility of changes in the athletic department. We are talking about a human being and his family being affected. Not a criminal offense. Just poor judgement, assuming the story is true. Think of careers being ending by some politically incorrect comment. Jimmy the Greek, The Los Angeles Dodgers executive, Ben Wright, the golf columnist. If you're in a position of authority or in the public eye, you should just assume that every word you speak in public could be overheard, especially if there is a microphone around. It will be interesting to witness the final result of this situation.

A groaner joke and a joke of an AD are two different things. Everybody enjoys the first type once in a while, but very few ever enjoy the second type!
