RE: Jordan Lynch Placed On Waivers
Jordan Lynch is playing a new position in RB and has never blocked in his life. He was never going to make the 53 man roster. It should be hoped that practice squad is his destination, because he really is a player without a position in the NFL, short of this tryout at RB.

I think Carey is right that he would have been one of the top 64 QBs in the NFL. Per touch he was probably the most productive runner in the preseason the Bears had

If he's destined to make it he will...I for one would watch him if he played in the CFL...

I know people want it for him but it's not crazy for an undrafted player to not make a team.

ESPECIALLY when that player is learning a new position (positions, if you count special teams). ESPECIALLY when he's competing with a top five player at the position AND a relatively highly drafted guy.

precisely...i want it for him too. but the bears are looking to roster the 53 best possible players.

Ah, professional sports is a funny business... If Shea McClellin makes the team, the Bears are most definitely not looking for the 53 best possible players. But... he was drafted, so....

great point...but they have a lot of money invested in him, and it was the Emory's very first draft pick...should not be surprised that he's still on the team despite not really fitting in / being good.

You'd think he'd go back to QB in the CFL or stick at RB? Isn't the RB spot almost useless in the CFL with only three downs?

Good post.

I think many times we suffer from the anti-homer syndrome though, where since he is from NIU, he must suck. That isn't always true, I don't think any of us would argue if Lynch got a shot he would stick somewhere, he just hasn't been given that shot yet.

He was given a shot. He's been in training camp and practice for months and didn't do enough to make the team or earn playing time in the preseason (unless the Bears were trying to keep him a secret for the practice squad, which I guess is possible).

The Bears also have liquid poo at LB so they might as well hope a high draft pick pans out (possible higher ceiling). It's not a perfect comparison.

Because they didn't give the guy you like enough carries? He chose a situation that was nearly impossible for him and didn't do enough. Why is that so hard to accept?

I'd just let it go. You're right and everyone knows you're right. But you're trying to argue with someone who has the IQ of a retarded monkey.

I'm just sort of confused . What more could he have done in game? In both the games he had the most Yards per carry.

Thats the thing, I think it became a Tebow-ish thing, he was the most productive runner but I think the whole "feel good local kid story" hurt him in the end. Coaches dont like to feel like their hand is being dealt to them.
