Great Night Last Night
Temple destroys an SEC opponent. We got an exciting conference matchup and Boise State loses. 04-rock

Way to go, Owls!!! I had mixed feelings about the Boise State game. On the one hand, I hate Ole Miss and the SEC. On the other, I have no love for Boise or the Mountain West. If Ole Miss can reduce their penalties and turnovers, I am afraid they will be pretty good this year. Memphis is in for a tough game at their stadium in a few weeks.

I agree and I think their peak has passed them by.

I agree. With about 5 mins left in the game the announcers were practically writing Boise State's obituary. 03-lmfao

One thing I might add was I was VERY impressed with the way the conference was being treated and talked about during the CBS-Sports Tulane-Tulsa telecast. The commentators were very complimentary and took the conference seriously---very refreshing. They seemed to be genuinely excited about the product they would be broadcasting this season and were making an effort to talk up the new conference. Very nice to see and I hope---a sign of things to come. They seem to get it---it makes no sense to belittle a product that will fill a large number of hours on your airwaves.

I think Boise will be fine. They have some talent but early on their play calling in the red zone left a lot to be desired. Boise new coach will get the ship righted but it is basically a young staff.

On the other hand, Ole Miss should have destroyed them and if they can get their QB head on straight the Rebels will be a formidable opponent for anyone they play this season.

The only potential fly in the ointment last night was the Tulsa crowd on hand. They need to figure out a way to get some folks to turn out. I'd be surprised if there were 10K actually there.

This is the American's #1 challenge to address, IMO. Not just Tulsa's crowd, but attendance in general. When there is an American game on national TV, you absolutely have to show a packed stadium with a great college football atmosphere.

I heard that there are plenty of tickets still available for the BYU v. UConn game tonight - on ESPN. Hopefully there aren't many empty seats at kickoff!
