Delicious. Sweet justice.

Former MAC program moves up and into their best game in a long time. Holy crap, they are good...

I was at the game. Vandy fans around me were writing off the season and talking about putting their season tickets on stubhub...and that was when it was only 21-7. guess i have a knack for opening weekend upset blowouts, last year i went to Mcneese st at USF

They weren't anything special while in the MAC. With them gone and UMass leaving, the MAC's average ranking per USA Today drops to an 82 from 86. The AAC's average USA Today ranking is 75 now and would be 73 if Navy were a member now. So not a great deal of difference between the 2 leagues per USA Today.

They were like 3-11 vs. MAC teams with .500 or better records. If they moved up, when is Akron and CMU leaving for the B10

Looks like Vandy may be on their way to the bottom after losing Franklin. It's a shame, I liked seeing them stand up to the big boys in the SEC.

If I'm not mistaken, Temple never beat a MAC school with a winning record. Also never won the MAC or even a division title. Good riddance!

They were ZERO for whatever against MAC teams with better than .500 records. They NEVER beat a MAC team that finished better than 4-4 in conference. Even the year they went 7-1 they didn't beat a good team. They played the bottom seven teams and then got slapped around when they finally played a good team.

So the blind squirrel found an acorn. Don't start pretending that Temple was anything other than 01-scout when it was in the MAC.

So are we saying UMass has a chance to beat Vandy this year? We kept 'em close last year.

In the history of Temple and MAC football...Temple has only defeated 1 MAC team with a record of over .500 (including bowl game) and that was Toledo in 1984.

Yeah, it was more a situation from the old Big East of, "we're desperate, you're not as woefully inadequate in FB as when we relegated you, and the BBall schools are whinging that we never make any all-sports adds with any BBall pedigree."

And they were only ranked 8/11 in the pre-season media poll, with one of those "lost a lot of close games, maybe they can win some of those this year" situations seeming like the main thing putting them ahead of Tulsa, Tulane and UConn.

Why I regret missing the game is that they were two not-highly-regarded teams in their respective conferences, and the low-expectations Go5 school beat the low-expectations SEC school like a throw rug on spring cleaning day.

If they consistently lost to MAC schools with winning records, and had a MAC record of around .500, that would suggest they consistently beat MAC schools with losing records.

I'd reckon neither Vandy nor Kentucky reckon they ought to be considered in and amongst MAC schools with losing records.

Speaking of teams who have better records now that they are playing inferior competition UCF was 7-17 from 02-04 playing MAC opponents.

How poetic was the slogan 'Anchor Down' on those Vandy jerseys? Any Commodore should know the anchor needs to be up before you can set sail. Ergo, TEMPLE 37 VANDERBILT 7.

The Vandy defense appears to have misunderstood the slogan ... as I understand it, they aren't supposed to drop the anchor down until after they have the opposition in a tackle. Dropping anchor at the start of the play just makes it easier for the other team's offense to get around them.

And the Vandy offense appears to have understood the ball as the anchor, as often as they put the ball down.

From the 2013 season, Penn State, South Carolina, Louisville, Houston and Baylor are inferior opponents?

Got it.
