And Boise already did us a favor. Likely would need Marshall to lose at least one as well.
I know the first weekend of college football has hardly begun, but the Boise St. loss is HUGE for the American's chances at the Access Bowl bid. MWC contenders Fresno St. (plays at USC, at Utah, and Nebraska) and Utah St. (plays at Tennessee, Wake Forest, and at BYU) still have the potential wins on the schedule to disrupt the American and an undefeated Marshall has to be considered; but, the American is looking like the front runner right now - especially with Temple's destruction of Vandy on the road.

Akron scored 3 touchdowns in 5 plays. I know it was against FCS but I think Akron has the best chance to unravel Marshall's season.
I think Rice, Ohio, or Akron could do it.
Having seen Marshall play on the road many times I wouldn't be all that surprised if someone you wouldn't expect like UAB did it. With their schedule unless they are undefeated they won't get the access bid.

Yeah, I'm pulling for Mason but I was rooting for Temple.

I don't think Boise was ever a factor in the Access Bowl anyway. That said, that slot is wide open and a team from the MAC, Sun Belt, or CUSA could easily get into that game. If ECU handles business in their OOC schedule and navigate through conference play relatively unscathed, it would be theirs for the taking.
Man, I've been talking up UCF in my area near Tampa, and everyone is always talking about what we can't do. We can't win a big bowl game, we can't beat Penn State, we can't beat Louisville, we can't beat Missouri, we can't win our conference.
Well, now they are telling me "UCF can't make it to the playoff".
