I have them beating Penn st next week. They avoid us and Toledo in cross over...I think they can be a 7 or 8 win team.

RE: Akron!
First game is always impossible to tell. If you play a bad FCS team it tells you nothing. If you play a good FCS team it tells you something, kinda, but you still don't know. I know someone will bash me as a CMU apologist but look at our game this year and last. Snuck by New Hampshire last year who made it all the way to the FCS semifinals. This year we snuck by UTC who is expected to make a deep playoff run. The top FCS teams are very good and MAC fans need to show respect. After all, our teams are always grouped as "MAC teams" when we have had some very good teams (#10 Miami 2003, #23 CMU 2009, NIU Orange Bowl 2012). Example, NDSU raped us in 2007 when we won the MAC. Just like I think NDSU could have won/competed for the MAC last year.
Not to stick my wood in the morning coffee but didn't Akron hammer some FCS school a year or 2 ago then go winless the rest of the year? You never know. I hope they beat PSU.
Anyway, Akron is supposed to be a dark horse this year right? I hope they do well after some putrid seasons.

Always rooting for MAC teams during non-conference play. I am now a Presbyterian fan the rest of the way. Just like I hope Northwestern, UNLV, and Arkansas each lose just one game the whole year.
