Who to cheer for?
I was just thinking about this tonight while watching the Ole Miss/Boise St game.

I am so used to cheering for the G5 teams against the P5 teams.

But now that we (individually and as a conference) are all fighting for the "access bowl" should we continue to want the G5s (outside the SBC) to knock off the P5's or should we want the P5s to beat the G5s?

If Boise comes back and beats Ole Miss here they and the MWC have an inside track for "access bowl". I would love to see Boise win but I know the if they win they have a lot easier road to the access bowl.

Discuss...

Pull for the G5 in the P5/G5 games, and then pull for parity once conference games start.

I think the best return is for G5 to beat P5. The corrosive effect on every G5 when they lose to P5 is worse than the potential damage to one team that might or (more likely) might not get a playoff spot.

Kinda strange that Boise, Ole Miss, and UL all play each other. Imagine the conundrum that would take place if all went 11-1, I guess 12-1 for Boise and Ole Miss since they have CCGs, each with losses to one of the other two.

Every G5 conference needs to lose except SBC and in embarrassing fashion. Whatever winning other G5's have done hasn't done us a lick of good so far.

I have a feeling we won't have to worry about that.

IDK, the more the G5s beat the P5, the less they can separate themselves and hold themselves to a higher level. We need parity, not lopsided dominance. Other G5 wins won't directly help us, but them constantly getting shut out will hurt us in the long run.

I was pulling for Ole Miss...primarily because of Bryan Harsin.

Anyone rooting for Western Kentucky vs Bowling Green?
The game just came on CBS Sports - Channel 315 Time Warner in Charlotte.

The WKU Hilltoppers pretty much dissed the SBC going out, but
I kind of want to root for them. Weird. Guess because they are former members
and playing another G-5 MAC team.

Nah...not SBC anymore so I don't care. Might even cheer if Bowling Green wins.
