Heaving forbid if some of that rap music is played.
For the record, other than when we were given a brass note on Beale Street last year, the Gentrys have not been working since Jimmy Hart got into the wrestling business in the early 80's. We are not looking to work to be even considered washed up, lol. However, some of us are still active in the music business while others have careers such as one as a heart surgeon. As a friend of Jimi Jamison, I would add that he is out on his own and working for truly nice paydays. After viewing the acts hired, they did ok although they did hire one local bar act which was a nice touch.
Speaking of great bands at STRAT57. You guys would be amazing, and loved at such a venue.

Still wonder why people hating on the music choices. Wasn't like they were going to bring in Jayonce, Gaga or the Foo Fighters.

Yeah, while not in the original Treadwell High bunch, I was there 13 years which was as long as anyone save Jimmy Hart who was there from start until the end. His decision to do the wrestling ended the band. All of the original members were gone by 1968 except for Hart. I have nothing but great memories other than being on Stax when Union Planters shut it down, lol. I now am in a band called Even Odds which does soul, disco, funk and current top 40 and do about 150 nights a year.

Thanks. I think they did fine with the budget that they are working with. These acts don't come cheap including the local one, Kevin Paige. I am thrilled that they are doing this and hope that everyone gets behind this. If a success, next year might bring a bigger budget and larger acts. The mere effort by the new AD and crew speaks volumes about the past and also what the future might hold, if the chips fall right for us. I am solidly behind them and their trying to do the right things.

Good to see you guys turning the corner.
When we have some tv-show, runner-up playing...let me know.
Bret Michaels, Pat Green, and Thompson Square are good names.
Never been a Pat Green fan but I don't mind us having him play. Thompson Square is decent and a fairly big name at that. Bret Michaels is just embarrassing.
Really? I have a bunch of friends who's wives are suddenly planning to attend a Memphis game on Oct 31st.
Maybe so. But is that the demographic we are really tring to capture? Middle-aged (at best) women?

We can't be picking a "demographic".

If those bodies result in more and more bodies then yes. But it'd be nice to attract a younger demographic that will continue to come to games for years and years.
I think everyone agrees that the only thing that's really going to get/keep butts in the seats is a winning product on the field, though. Hopefully this year is the start of that.

there are signs up around campus for the Tiger Village for the students over on Early Maxwell in front of the coliseum. Hopefully there's a decent group of students there, regardless of weather.

Main word there being undergrad students. Just going by wikipedia there were 21k students last year with 4k being postgraduates. There could be more than 20k undergrad now but I wouldn't say way more.
