Wake Forest got called for a delay of game on the opening kickoff of opening day against ULM.

not a good omen for how the season is going to go.... only 2 times I've ever heard of that quite frankly.... though I'm sure it's happened before...

How does one get a delay of game penalty on a kickoff? I've never noticed the play clock going off.

An Alabama game I went to as a student about 14 years ago had a delay of game penalty on the second half kickoff because the bands did not get off the field in time during halftime.
