UH: GA Tickets Sold Out for TDECU Stadium Opener
HOUSTON - All single-game general admission tickets for the TDECU Stadium opener Friday night between Houston and UTSA are sold out, Houston Athletics Ticket Office representatives announced Wednesday. A limited number of reserved single-game tickets remain for fans looking to make history with the opening of the on-campus facility.
Hopefully the game sales out. I am really surprised it has not sold out already. Unfortunately, 70% chance of thunderstorms for Houston area Friday night/Sat morning. I hope the Coogs are ready to get wet!
Go Coogs! BEAT UTSA!

No excuse for this game not to be sold out long ago. By looking at the UH ticket website, it appears to be less then 200 tickets left.
It should be sold out well before kick off.

You don't know very much about UH history....
Ten years ago, this game would have about 20k in the stands,
15 years ago, this game would have had about 15k in the stands.
We're expecting 40k in the stands Friday night. No Cougar, dead or alive, has ever seen that type of crowd show up for a Cougar home game on campus.
Not even during Andre Ware's Heisman year, or during our best SWC years, did we get support like that for home games not against Arky, UT, or A&M.
UH has come a very, very, very long way.
Time to celebrate

Has our local media even covered the new stadium this week? I know the Chronicle finally put up a story toys afternoon, but I haven't had a chance to watch the TV news this week.
I know it's not their job to promote UH, but when Reliant, Minute Maid, Toyota Center and Dynamo stadiums opened, there was no shortage of coverage.

This is no joke. I managed to get lost enough to drop into Robertson at least a few times during the Dimel error. Opposing school fans fluffed up those numbers.

Don't know, don't care. I thought the local hacks only covered shootings and fires? Not that I have a TV hooked up to anything that brings in a signal, anyway.
That aside, it's pro sports or bust here. You know that, as if the Texans being a joke since their inception hasn't given that hint away.

I honestly don't have a beef with our coverage in the local media. Of course a college football (amateur) game or stadium isn't going to match the coverage for the NBA, NFL, and MLB teams big transactions. I'm realistic. But I think the Chron, et al, has done a good job of getting the news out there, plus there's been billboards all over Houston with "8-29-14" in big bold red font promoting the game as well. If the Texans have the kind of season I'm anticipating, then it'll only get better for us, even though I'm a Texan fan as well.
