Interesting how the name calling, videos and cartoons rear their ugly head when the facts don't bear out the lame attempts at excuse posturing for Peej here.

The 1-11 record sure proves it!

That proved the coaching was inept.

Obviously, he is writing from a Purdue perspective, but I think he was fair on all points good and bad for both teams. Really not a ton to get excited about when you have a pair of 1-11 teams kicking off the season.

In years past this game may well have qualified for ESPN's Pillow Fight of the Week.

Your facts mean nothing because they weren't facts, "a few" isn't factual at all..... Chuck/chi.

That is something I will be interested in watching this year. If we can show marked improvement in that area we will win some field position battles and could hang on to some games down the stretch. If Purdue goes all Iowa on us and starts returning everything to the end zone I see no chance for us in this game.

Didn't we hire the same GA that coached those horrible coverage teams as the full time special teams coach? Serious question, I can't remember.

If you're talking about Gibboney, he was the guy that successfully executed 2 onside kicks against us in the LCPB. 03-banghead

I was pretty happy to have him on our side (pun intended) when I heard the announcement he would be joining the staff. Unfortunate he called it quits not long thereafter.

So we hired the GA who was in charge of special teams last year? Correct?

Coverage teams are not about talent. They are about desire and coaching. I have a little bit of experience when it comes to this. Many of the best kick cover guys are not even close to being the most talented.

Number 1 not Chuck have no idea who he is.....I have had the same id for almost 10 years....I can still login with this id at scout. I just usually don't post. I used to just check the site to read about our teams, keep up to date on the info, and chat about the games when I think I have a useful thought. I just can't take your useless crap anymore.

Number 2. You can't just say facts aren't facts. You asked about injuries. I gave you a list of over 10 players with season ending injuries that happened even before the first game. You could argue about 7 of them could have been starters. That's gonna effect everything a team does. You are telling me it won't??

The timing of Gibboney leaving was bad, so we had to throw in a GA to 'coach'. Pinkham was supposed to be helping with that, too. Gibboney left because his wife was having a baby and she wanted to be closer to home in PA.

Rob Wenger is listed as the Special Teams Coordinator. Yes he was a GA last year. He is no longer a GA but Assistant Coach.

I honestly don't know. That would be pretty ridiculous if true!

Thank you. But I did ask original is he who we hired. Give me some credit.
