At this point, it would probably be easier to run a kickstarter or gofundme campaign to purchase an hour of WLW programming for Tim Adams to have a show.

Extended pre and post game shows need sponsors.

Once upon a time, UC did have a "radio" show of sorts, on gobearcats.com. That didn't even seem to last. Too bad, since I much prefer that to something like "Gameday".

Too expensive to produce, or simply not enough interest overall?

The problem is the right questions are not being asked by Lance and Cincy radio. Do individuals listen to the UC Coaches Shows on WLW? Do the Coaches Shows receive a decent amount of callers? In what proportion are these callers compared to a Reds or Bungles show? Are the advertisers or UC willing to pony up some cash for a longer show? How much weight do you give a meaningless poll on Lance's blog as compared to callers? What is the magic number of callers needed to increase coverage?

Tells me that they know that it is not the best way to gauge anything.

National shows are an entirely different animal.

Fridays from 2-4). Have someone like Dan Hoard or Trevor Streets host it. He can bring Tim Adams and Chad Brendel as a guest to talk about what is going on at practice, talk recruiting, what the coaches are saying, etc.. Other guests could be the play by play guy for the opposing teams, maybe Mike Bohn, Mike Aresco and even Bearcat alums.

Also, I want expanded pre game coverage. This half an hour nonsense (which after commerical equates to about 15 minutes) is for the birds. If Pitt can get three hours (with the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates in town) so can we.

Then a bunch would complain about it not being on a good day or convenient time.

Is UC going to be paying the station for more air time?

Why are you so defensive on this issue? Does having UC on the air harm you in any way?

I'm not being defensive, I'm being logical. Everyone complains about coverage, then make excuses why they don't call in to radio shows even when presented with evidence that it matters. Not just by radio show hosts, but by Chuges, a guy who's not only an alum and fan, but someone that has worked in the Cincinnati radio industry.

Also, knowing who's going to pay for this increased coverage is a valid concern, because UC coverage obviously isn't as profitable as other sports radio topics right now. If it was, it would be a topic on a very regular basis.

You're giving radio stations way too much credit. They are run by some of the dumbest "business people" around.

UC needs the same type of deal Louisville got in regards to radio coverage. When Louisville lost it's #1 coverage to UK on WHAS 840. Clear literally turned over 790 WKRD to cover Louisville when they are not on WHAS. In addition UL got an outlet for football & basketball on WCKY &WSAI in Cincinnati That deal gave UL a more regional status for coverage UC should /could ask for more coverage on WSAI 1360 plus ask for more regional coverage via other clear channel stations in Ohio,Ky and Indiana during peek times for UC shows. UC needs to start thinking a little more about increasing there foot print.
