RE: Stock Tip
They say over 70% of trades are made by computers now. I know it sounds completely foreign to most people but I really don't care about fundamentals or technicals. I buy two weeks before the x and sell on the y within three days. I always buy it back cheaper than what I sold it. This will be the high point for the next couple of weeks. It's worked for me and it's worked well.

You said "somethings off." I tried to be helpful and explain what might be the problem.

And the quants use the fundamentals and technicals to create their computer trading algorithms.

And what do you do, turn on the condescending arrogance attitude that you are so inclined towards.

Wooo Wooo woo. Not trying to be condescending at all. I'm pissed it didn't work. I was in at 53. I told people to buy at 49. I'm not being condescending it was more of an explanation. I actually feel bad that I recommended it.

When you start getting stock tips on sports message boards, you know the bottom is about to fall. Kind of like getting real estate investment tips from your barber.

Im in so much shiyt on this one that's actually funny. I'll divest here and it's time to regroup.

BIG TIME!!!! I need to start trading options but Scottrade only allows me to short sell. They don't have a put or call option. If I actually learn how to do that then the whole experience might be worth it.

My apologies, I misunderstood.

Schwab has an extensive call/put option trading platform. They also have their Street Smart Edge package that has lots of good stuff.
Personally, I stick to selling covered calls.

As I previously mentioned, you should visit Morningstar's boards for these discussions.

Hey Mach... don't be worried... I didn't bet big (at all). I don't manage my own (real) money... Just a little play money. I didn't do the legwork myself and I didn't pay for your advice. This was 'fun', pun intended. I'm not in bad shape.

Yep. The Schwab platform is great for options.

DIS, F, and NUAN have been good for me the last year. NUAN was bought in the hopes that Samsung or Apple would acquire them but still a decent runup.

Well I'm sorry I've sold off 2000 shares since yesterday and it's still going down.

RE: Stock Tip
Out of curiosity, I took a look at the financial statements. Here's my take.

On the surface the nearly 6% dividend looks attractive. But they have a nearly 90% payout ratio, due to it being organized similar to a REIT or MLP as a limited partnership. Yet they are extraordinarily leveraged. Therefore, their debt service is a big factor.

Now it is expected that the Fed will likely raise interest rates next year. If that happens, FUN's debt service will rise, net profit will fall, and funds available for dividends will drop.

As a result, the dividend could be in danger of dropping substantially and therefore, it will no longer be a good buy.

If I had their annual report, I'd look at the footnotes regarding debt service. Without detailed information, my suspicion is still that a 1% rise in their interest exposure, could cut their dividend by 15-20%.

RE: Stock Tip
So three days after the y this stock goes down. I sell on the y and will buy back within a month on a low point. I sold off the majority of the shares at 47.35-47. I'll buy it back within the next within the 45's. It usually goes up a dollar or 2 during the y. Now if we can use this strategy around option buys I'm all ears. I am now accumulating BPT shares before it's x date. I will sell the shares either on the x date or ydate. Historically the shares don't pop like they do on the y date like FUN but I will make money with the dividend and I'll make money over the 93.50 I have averaged. I am now divested of FUN and I'm accumulating BPT.
