Should be a great game. I believe Tulane is a three and a half to five point underdog. Do not believe it. Watch our redshirted freshman QB Tanner Lee perform and our great defense. Roll Green Wave!

Tulsa is actually a 6.5 point favorite, which I expect to rise to at least 7 by kickoff. Tulsa has lost one game to Tulane in the past 40 years, which occurred last year against Tulsa's worst team in 15 years. Tulsa is at home and Tulane is really young. I don't see Tulane winning this one. Tulsa 31 Tulane 14.

An awful lot of very good & *very* young talent on offense for Tulane that the media knows nothing about.
I don't see Tulane putting up a whole lot offensively. If Tanner Lee remains on his feet, Tulane wins.
If Dane Evans can respond to the hot reads that Tulane's defense will bring, Tulsa wins.

"You" cannot not wait to play "us"?
We have every reason to be confident after having our football program released from shackles that were imposed over the last fifteen years by our own President. We are not cocky, we see with our own eyes the transformation that is happening and it pleases us to no end. I look forward to our football team hosting & visiting games against programs from our new conference.

What have we played in that 40 year span, nine games?

Almost all of which have occurred during our ten year losing streak?

The one year we had a winning team, we beat you.

I think that's more indicative than anything else. It's a new day.

Golden Hurricane - 31
Green Wave - 13

Tulane has promise this year, unfortunately, they are playing probably the best safety duo in the conference. For a young quarterback, he will have a rough outing. Tulane holds tight through the first quarter and a half but then starts fading away.

INB4 ECU overall record argument.

I just don't see Tulsa hanging 31 points on Tulane's defense. We're going to give up a big play or two, but I think we will cause more disruption with our back seven that will result in big swing plays that in the end will favor Tulane. We will show man to man with our corners and your QB will not know where the pressure is coming from. Our young QB should be ok.

I'm not sure we can put up 31 points either, I'm thinking the first team to 27 wins.

The Invisiblehand keys to the game are:

Time of Possession and Effective Running
Limit Turnovers
3rd Down Conversions

I think Tulane's ground attack suffers without Darkwa. We haven't heard much about how they intend to replace a bruiser like him. Tulsa has a stable of backs that have a great deal of potential but are newcomers... this an area where it's ? vs ?

In last years game, Tulsa had:
More total yards, more rushing yards, and similar passing yards
More 1st downs as well (our defense got off the field more)

But, Tulsa had twice as many turnovers and penalty yards given up
and we just didn't convert on 3rd down. Time of possession favored Tulane by several minutes.

I don't think we see the same game this year. Tulsa should win this with a more under control game by Dane Evans and his offensive line.

I suppose an off-season could help, but you arguably had the worst QB in CUSA last year and that is saying something with our putrid QB play. Lee is being talked up by everyone including some high level scouts. This will be a very interesting match-up and is a huge game for both programs' post season aspirations, lots of unknowns. Personally, I think there is a lot of value taking Tulane and the points.

No question Tulsa is going to be a tough game. Tulane has really struggled in the past playing up there. The one difference I see this year taking my olive and blue colored glasses off is overall talent and speed. In the past Tulsa was simply the more talented team that had far superior speed than Tulane. Now that is simply not the case.

Tulane running backs: Sherman Badie & Dontrell Hilliard

Regardless of the outcome, if turnovers stay low its a low low low scoring game. I predicted TUlane 20, TUlsa 14
