Texans put Lonnie Balletine on the injured reserve list. I believ,e in his case, it's more of a roster move than any significant injury.

Go figure, but for me it is just another reason to keep on wishing for them to lose. Hope a better offer is around the corner. Seems like he is a needed weapon for a lot of teams.

He is by far the best punter I have ever seen and could do it all: hang time, distance and or placement. I don't understand it, unless for some reason he had a bad camp.

The way the Cowboys are run, I'll take this as a good sign.

Someone will eventually pick him up. He's too good not to get a real shot. The 8&8boys are bidness as usual, lol.

Why do the Cowboys need a punter? Romo keeps turning it over anyway

He'll be better off if another team picks him up and that's likely.

You must have never seen Ray Guy punt. I saw him kick one completely out of Shea Stadium just goofing off in the late 70s. He mastered his position possibly better than anyone mastered any position in sports history. He was incredible.

Yes he was, but Hornsey may be the best I've seen since.

Ray Guy is the best punter ever for both college and NFL. You can probably throw in high school, elementary and kindergarten as well. He was unbelievably NOT inducted in the NFL Hall of Fame until this year. 7 times Pro-Bowl and 3 Superbowl rings.

No doubt. He was a great athlete too. 95 mph fastball drafted by the Reds, all-star basketball player and one of the best quarterbacks in Georgia HS history.

Hornsby indeed is a fantastic punter, though. He'll latch on somewhere. It's such a volatile position, he'll definitely get a shot.

From what I read the other punter got the nod due to his being a better holder.

As others have already said, just another reason to hate the Cowboys, like I really needed another.

Punting is a tough gig to get into in the NFL, but Hornsey will land somewhere even if it's in a year or two. He's too good not to.

Having a tryout with the Cowboys gives someone about as much exposure as possible in the pre-season. Someone was watching and he will get a gig. But it is true, most punters area asked to hold for extra points and field goals.
