Well from what I can tell, some guys were not allowed to practice during camp. It sounds like they were added back when school started. Kinda like the opposite of NFL training camp cuts.

According to the game notes, our two school colors are now Forest Green and Old Gold. 86 white?

The official school colors are green and white...the official athletic colors are Forest Green and Old Gold. There is a story behind the division if anyone is interested.

When I graduated with my MA in 1972, there were no "school colors" nor "Blazer" mascot. When they came along, I thought green and gold were chosen as the only pretty colors NOT red and white nor blue and orange. Colors and mascot name were chosen by student election at the time of the choices (It was the same method UC Irvine used to get "Anteater").
