RE: Press Conference Quotes
Have you been reading Bush's memoirs? No, bad decisions aren't "learning experiences" at worst. They can set you back. If Carey decided to go with Maddie from the beginning of camp, and gave no first team reps to the other two, and then when Maddie finally got to play against Presbyterian he threw 3 interceptions, we would be in a far worse position. Or even worse, if he did well against Presbyterian because they're terrible but stunk up the place against NW, then we would have to open up the QB competition between Hare and McIntosh while at the same time doing game prep in the week leading up to UNLV and maybe Arkansas. That would be a cluster****. What if he's mediocre but the better QB is sitting on the bench all season and that costs us the MACC? There's only a 33% chance you picked the right one. Splitting time with Presby lets each QB see game time in a live situation with full contact. Whoever it is will have had significant first team practice reps, game action and will get a full week of prep for NW. It's imperative we find the best QB of the bunch and if it's not clear then a real game could help decide. As long as we find him by Thursday we'll be fine.

I think we should have Luke Eakes under center . Then we'll be assured that the TE will be involved in the offense this year

This indecision makes me either question Carey's approach (see Toledo Qbs for the last two years) or (and this is where I am) that none of the three are impressive. The odds of all three of them being equally great is far less likely than all three of them being equally I impressive (and no one has come back from a practice glowing about how great all three were). I am not anywhere near as confident as I was a month ago and it's effecting my desire to make the trip to Arkansas

Alabama and Wisconsin haven't named starters yet. You need to get off the MD overrraction train and take a deep breath. We started a season once with Grady and had to switch to Harnish...it worked out alright.
Not to mention no one knows what the coaches really think. Or the fact that game prep for NU/ark hasn't even started yet

Actually, UW has named a starter.

I have nothing against Coach Carey but I think its to the point now where he has revealed some chinks in the armour through this process.

Not really, their head coach said that was just social media overreaction, both guys will play vs. LSU
