Was Sam the only guy to have a sack this weekend, or do we now base production in sports on sexual orientation?

Seriously, if he makes the team great, if he gets the cut, so be it, hundreds of others will be getting cut right along with him.

Dungey was right when he said, "I wouldn't have drafted him because I don't want to deal with the circus that comes with it."

St. Louis is in a no win situation. If they cut him they get negative feedback. If they keep him because they don't want the feed back then they are simply taking a hit for the team to avoid a PR issue.

I think Sam has 4 sacks this presason. If you pass on a potentially productive player because you can't manage a locker room, that says more about you than anything.

I think it was a story, because he sacked Manziel.......Manziel is all ESPN talks about......He is their new Tebow. So if Sam sacked Manziel he deserves to make the team, because Manziel is the "GREATEST QUARTERBACK ALIVE!!!!!"

Congrats on your smarmy elitist attitude. I don't care if the whole damn league is made up of Gay men, lesbians, trannies, or bi-sexuals. I just don't get how Michael Sam getting a sack is the lead story on ESPN, Mike and Mike, and Dan Patrick. Sports figures tend to be singled out for great plays; things out of the ordinary. Granted a sack by a gay football player is out of the ordinary, but a sack in itself is not that newsworthy. Sports media made this out to be a special achievement, but really, is it? It's 1 sack in 1 game. Does ESPN ever lead with a story about a minor league player getting a base hit in spring training. Pretty much the same equivalent.

I hope Sam gets cut and never plays NFL. I'm sick of the circus act, this is as bad as Tebow, the last famous gay player.

He's the first openly gay player in NFL history. Jackie Robinson probably wasn't a big deal, either.

Jackie Robinson was better than Sam, relatively speaking. The distinction is "openly gay", there have been plenty of gay players and we were fine without the circus show.

Also, the fact "ChipDip" was dumb enough to say it's a no win situation for the Rams is amazing. They drafted the SEC defensive player of the year in the 7th round and he's been tearing it up in the preseason. Maybe he turns out to be a good NFL player? Yeah, clearly a no win situation.
