He doesn't have to leap frog anybody. Literally everything that has been said by the coaches since the start of camp says they're all even. If you go back and read some of the QB discussions on here lately, I would say Maddie probably has the most momentum of the three right now (whatever that means).

The coaches and Huskie Wire say its that close.

Also Maddie was easily the worse preforming guy in the Spring game so its impressive he caught up vs guys who have an extra year and two in the system.


I agree with 7 the face that Maddie is in it now and Cole says he has the X factor to me says he will be our guy for the NU game...after that will depend on if he screws up or not.

I say play each QB in each of the first three quarters and in the last quarter put back in the one who performed the best. Of course it all depends how the game goes...

No...it's literally the only thread I've read here concerning football recently...solely because I was interested in where Maddie would shake out.

Why aren't KR or PR listed on there? Thinking Logan/Aregeros for KR and then Beebe for PR.

I loved that Carey said he was a one QB kind of a coach when camp started. Now he's considering playing more than one QB??? What is he going to see in the Presbyterian game that he hasn't seen already??? I really don't understand the delay. I'd rather that the QB is already in place and is being given every opportunity to have a successful season by getting most of the first-team reps. Anyone know Carey's plan and the line of his thinking in regards to the QB position???

I agree with this. I've been saying that I think Carey has his guy picked, but isn't saying anything because he wants to keep NU guessing.

I just wouldn't put too much stock into anything right now. I'm sure what's being said in meetings is different than what they're putting out to the fans/media. I don't doubt that it's a close competition, but I'm sure they have them ranked at this point. It really does nothing for Carey or anyone else to say who the first QB is going to be...especially if they want to see either two or all three of them play on Thursday.

Man although he looks like a beast Dunbar seems small to be playing DT. We really need beef up there in the worst way where he could play his natural position on the end. Nice to see the youngsters Lee, Jones, etc. are on the 2 deep at that position so it sounds like they are coming along and they bring some beef.

I bet McIntosh is the starter....If we had less weapons or younger weapons who didn't play before, I think you could roll the dice..but with the talent returning, you just need a guy to not screw up..

I hope all of you are right that what's being said in the coaches meeting is completely different than what he's saying to the media. Hopefully the starter is getting the majority of the snaps with the ones and being given every chance to succeed.
