In an earlier post, I mentioned that this was really a question of loyalty; Coach Nutt's from Arkansas and said this was his 'dream job'. The question was if Houston Nutt lived to his words.
The answer, an emphatic YES.
Houston Nutt turns down a 10-year, $25 million contract from Nebraska to remain head coach at the University of Arkansas. He will accept a new 10-year, $14 million contract from Arkansas, become promoted to asst. AD, and will be able to assume the AD's position when Coach Broyles retires.
Nebraska and Arkansas have fought over 2 coaches in the past year. First was Dave Van Horn. Second is Houston Nutt. Both are coaching, and will continue to coach, at Arkansas.

Congratulations on keeping a good coach in the "Pen". I know ya'll are breathing a little easier now.
Congratulations on your win in the Independence Bowl, also!
The SEC has really shown up for the bowls - well, with a couple of exceptions.

WOW!! I liked HDN anyway, but this move, or lack thereof, just made me respect him that much more. There is alot to be said for loyalty, that is huge especially for what he turned down. I think we now know that HDN is a class act(never really questioned that, though) while, well, we know what Tommy Teletubby does in that situation.
Anyway, congrats on a great bowl win and congrats on keeping a great coach!! I think Hog fans should really get behind him now until the end after proving to all of them that he is in fact an absolute Arkansas Razorback die-hard through and through. It's also great to see something like this when we live in such a greedy world. Kudos to Nutt.

Not so sure about the loyalty part! You would have to have a screw loose to want to go to Neb. after firing a coach that goes 9-3 in regular season.
The deal I heard was $14 mil for 7 years, that's 2 a year instead of 2.5 in a 10 year $25 mill contract. Besides, Ark did offer some job security that Neb obviously does'nt have. Add to that the AD job when you're done coaching, it can't get much better than that.
Anyway, way to go Ark., congrats on the win.
