The Watson loss that infuriates me the most?

When No. 24 UAB, 5-1, went to New Orleans, and hung 55 points on Tulane. And lost.

I'll chime in. Assessing if we can expect improved defense in 2014, we'll be discussing the answers to the following questions as indicated in the first game of the season:

1) Did we pressure the QB early and often?

That's it. IMHO, if we see Troy State's QB regularly having 5+ seconds to scan our defense and make decisions, all scheme and strength/stamina changes implemented by the new staff will be (mostly) for naught and we will have endured a long Saturday with a long transition year ahead in 2014. Not that our last staff set our defense up initially for success the last two seasons, but our consistent inability to get anyone into the opposing backfield - ever, essentially - made a catastrophic situation apocalyptic.

I think we'll be talking about the return of Smaug's $.02

Given the number of bad DCs we've suffered under I'd say it's getting a pencil in every orifice...the only choice is the order.

Bolt had better talent. I'll just say both were bad for us.

Bolt didn't cost us the D-Line coach who messed up by himself, but he did cost us Woodrow Lowe, a fine LB coach who has since done well as FBHC @ Central of Phenix City. FBHC Clark told me he and Lowe are friends so perhaps that fence will be mended. No Central HS players even considered UAB while Callaway and McGee were here.

That's not a good comparison. You saying chlamydia and gonorrhea are not preferable over HIV?

Bolt and "Keep it down home cuz" both looked lost after the 1st quarter. The had no answers except changing QBs at one point, but they obviously were commited to the starter.

I think they are who we thought they were. A middle of the pack Sun Belt team and we did what a C-USA team is supposed to do to a middle of the pack Sun Belt team. It needs to happen more often from us and the rest of this league.
