1. That would be fine with me...

2. ...but I won't hold my breath.

Any WVU fans want to make an avatar bet on this? I'm willing to bet Bama wins by at least ten. If it's any less than that I will eat crow.

No one has mentioned the defending champs of an FBS conference on the road (as a 3TD dog, btw) at a team that has NEVER won a conference title.

Nor the 2013 bowl champs on the road at the Big 12 team who had zero players drafted, also about a 3TD dog.

One of these two Texas-based underdogs will win, and both will be much closer than the odds might suggest.

Why would anyone take that bet? WVU is a 26 point underdog; boy how times have changed.

Boise does not have a chance at ole miss. Thus isn't Peterson holding the clipboard. It's Harsin a coach that almost bombed his first job by losing several games he should gave never lost. He's a clown and it will show on National TV

You cheeky fellow, you...neither Texas team will win, though.

On the Big 12 note, I was already getting my heart broken seeing Abilene Christian lose to Georgia State.

But...

North Dakota State has a very good shot to win in Ames, IA.
Cal Poly has a pretty solid chance to win at New Mexico State.
Northern Iowa plays the Hawkeyes tough.
Navy could always cut block their way to a tight game against Ohio State.
I could see James Madison giving Maryland issues.
Could Montana start Wyoming off on the wrong boot?
How about New Hampshire at Toledo?

Err, how many TDs does Savannah State lose by at Middle Tenn?

As much as I will want to see it and I will pull a feed, Appy State probably will not be taking anyone by surprise in Ann Arbor.

(IOW, you guys are missing the real key predictions here. I'm glad UH-UTSA is on Friday so I can troll the new digs then rather than Saturday...)

UH UTSA is actually kind of a big deal. There's maybe 20 teams on the "watch list" for that magic G5 access bid, and without question those are two of them.
If the game's close then they both remain in play - but a convincing win moves the needle for the winner and likely eliminates the loser from national consideration.

And I have no idea at all which way it'll go. Both teams should be stronger than 2013. I guess I can safely go with the Texas based team again in case that doesn't work out with my other 2 pix.
