I noticed this on odusports.com and I figured it was a relevant item to be included here on the forum. If I understand the premise correctly, this is basically a hype page for Heinicke that will track his stats, accolades, highlights, and other things throughout the upcoming season.

Can a mod stick this up with the other important threads?

I think this is a great idea, but I think the layout (particularly the sidebar and the links at the bottom) looks really amateur-ish.

I checked it out, and I'm afraid I was not overly impressed. It certainly does not pop.

It's funny who they decide to acknowledge and ignore. Like an Underdog Dynasty article from a guy who probably has never seen an Old Dominion game before.

It is underwhelming.

I clicked on the highlights and they were only from 2013 with many soft passes. Most of the shots were from ground level.

I've seen better campaigns for a middle school class president.
And I'm really not kidding.

I was hoping that they'd make him a .com like all the other Heisman hopefuls (realistic or not). I'm hoping that they at least spruce up the layout of the existing page to make it look, well, less amateurish. The URL is telling; I think it should be something with Heinicke in it instead of just ViewArticle. (I'm no programmer, though...)

Perhaps it eventually will be...

the website has not even been updated....still a countdown running at the top for the game with HU....no updated stats. Nothing has changed.

It looks like they are working within the scope of the hosted solutions parameters, the NeuLion cms system. It doesn't appear to be wordpress or anything so it's something custom (canned template) that ODU pays for. Probably don't have the budget for it and if I remember correctly someone told me they couldn't use the other ODU resources for some reason? Can that be confirmed? If so that's a shame as there are a ton of Graphic Designers and Marketing students that could put out a very high quality product. Not this canned... stuff.

Edit: it looks like they got someone on staff that knows how to use Photoshop and has at least learned how to download brushes and use masks. Heading in the right direction!

Thanks for putting this together, Giles. I like seeing the running tally on TH's stats. It would be cool to add who's ahead of him in passing yardage/TD's to find out who he'll pass next on the all time lists.

Just ten more touchdowns and TH is in the top five. If he can average 300 yards a game he will be in the top five total yards. Both of these goals are acheivable. Good luck, Taylor!
