Then Seger closed the song with the final line, "ain't it funny how the night moves."

Must have been at the same show, Coliseum, 1980s? In the middle of one song the sax player, Alto Reed (great name or what) pops up in the middle of the audience playing a solo.

I was at taht one. He popped up right dead in front of me on the rail 2nd tier.

Still one of the best concerts I ever attended.

At some shows Reed was actually suspended on wires from the ceiling.

When I was trying to think of the sax mans name, all I kept coming up with was Magic Dick, the guy from the J. Geils band.

The first time I saw Seger was so long ago, KISS opened for him...

Kiss played at Lafayette's Music Room in Overton Square. About 1973/74 if my memory serves me right, but with all the illicit consumption at that time it might have actually been in an alternative universe. Too many 'Ludes.

Night Moves brings back some fond mammaries and Turn the Page is one of my favs. A late voting entry but Seger is the clear winner.

Rorer FTW. 714 was also a southern California area code.

Elvis identified with Turn the Page and looked into recording it. It reminded him of his early years where he tore up the back roads of the south from show to show, his hair and style of dress always drawing tacky comments.

As usual, the Col wouldn't let Elvis record anything that he (the Col) didn't have a piece of.

I like Seger better, but The Boss record sales speak for itself.

Last night I woke up to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a tune from 1962
Ain't it funny how the night moves

Anyone know what the tune was from 1962?

Be My Baby....The Ronettes.

And the "'60 Chevy" was actually a '62 but '60 sounded better. He also said that the girl was actually a girl he lost his virginity to. The boyfriend was away in the military. He came back and the girl married the boyfriend. Seeger said it broke his heart.

Springsteen has a HUGE international presence. There must be a reason for that.
