I've often wondered why UH fans come to this forum to post off-topic UH-centric stories. With that said... I'll go ahead and post one myself.

The record of text messages with State Senator John Whitmire regarding the proposed on-student housing plan is pretty embarrassing. She sounds more like an insecure high schooler than a college president.

People really should pick up the phone. I know that a lot of folks seem afraid of oral conversation, but more often than not it's a better way to do things.

Of course, the essential corollary is: people really should return phone calls. That is something of a lost art.

Whether he agreed or did not agree with the proposal, voluntarily releasing text messages to the media was a low blow by the Senator. As per norm, UH alums are the worst enemy of UH. If I had a vote in his district, I would be campaigning against him.

tend to agree... only encourages people like politicians to use services like snap-chat which disappear and can't generally be retrieved. Not that any of this rises to anywhere near such a level, but I honestly don't want politicians who are afraid to have their emails or texts recovered in case of legal violations... as such, I'm happy for them to have things like this be done behind closed, but recoverable, doors.
