RE: 2014 Basketball Schedule
Sounds about right. I think mb is right though, we are probably going to struggle early in conference on the road because of the lack of preparation for those games. If a couple of the freshmen can have strong years, and we get big years out of Washington and brown, we might be able to get closer to 20 wins. I think anything past that is unrealistic.

We currently have 5 teams that were over 150 last year. Last season we had 8. It isn't wonderful, but it is better. You can even throw the tournaments out, and it's still the case. We are likely going to have 5 games ooc in the top 100, with a few others who could get there.

I agree that we "not in the Hunt". but for the future when I think we will be. We have 9 cupcakes within CUSA - we need a very strong OOC to get in the NCAA as an at large. As well as a few of the resume builders will also be needed

14 teams in cusa. Wku la tech utep Charlotte mtsu odu and USM are not cupcakes. We just need mists of these teams in the top 125 most years to give us all some at large hope. Our schedule is strong enough for at large consideration this year. Unfortunately, we all doubt our team is.

RE: 2014 Basketball Schedule
For us to make the NCAA's while a member of this version of CUSA, we have to have a decent out of conference schedule and beat most every CUSA team like a rented mule. We need to beat them like they are cupcakes. Three or four conference losses is not going to cut it.

BUT.... Back to somewhat being on topic. I don't think this team has a strong chance at an at large this year, but I REALLY got my hopes up last year, so maybe karma will redeem me this year and give me a nice surprise

RE: 2014 Basketball Schedule
I think at this point we all need to hope that the team playing game 30 is much better than the team we see in game one. We have a ton of youth, and I really hope we see it grow as the season goes on.

RE: 2014 Basketball Schedule
So, anyway, despite the continued attempts to derail, I think the schedule is pretty good this year. No marquee home game like last year, but a steady stream of decent teams. Unfortunately, only strong basketball fans will recognize that and Birmingham is in support supply of those.
