Paying ransoms?
https://news.yahoo.com/foley-captors-ran...52751.html

This article brings up good points for both paying ransoms and not paying ransoms.

What are yall's thoughts on whether or not the US should pay ransoms?

No. The best thing is to not be in these schithole countries and get kidnapped.

This happens a lot here in El Paso with relatives who in some cases aren't even that rich.

It's pretty cut and dry. If you want to see your relative again, you better come up with the money.

I agree 100 Percent. Or if they have to be there as a journalists from a big news company, they should purchase some sort of insurance. Although i bet to insure someone for 100 million euro's or what ever the price was would be expensive.

I have a bunch of relatives that would be schit out of luck. They are so fcking annoying that their captors would eventually pay me to take them back.

Don't you mean that it happens in the border region? You seem to imply that El Paso is a kidnappers paradise and people are too poor to pay, which seem to contradict themselves. Broad generalizations help contribute to the public's perception of El Paso being the Wild West. Besides, I haven't heard of a single kidnapping for ransom in El Paso in over twenty years. Can you document these cases that happen "a lot"?

RE: Paying ransoms?
I don't think I'd be okay with paying a ransom to a terrorist organization like ISIS which would in turn fund their evil practices.

I think Fit thinks he is the only person to have been to El Paso and can say anything he wants and no one will call him out on it.

Fit, I lived there for 2 years and now live in Cruces and I've never heard of kidnappings before. Are you sure you live on the El Paso side of the fence?
