If I chose to do the research, I'm sure I could find some unsavory news from the past of Western Michigan University. You are from the same school of thought as some others on this board.
Bringing up some thing that occurred decades ago, as if that has any bearing on the argument that this is going to destroy Eastern or Ypsilanti is just stupid. Here is some thing to think about...If Eastern beats Western again this fall, you will hear from me reminding you of it. Constantly!
EMU ORIENTATION DAY Q&A
Parent: is that big white balloon thing an indoor driving range for students?
Tour guide: no sir that's our new inflatable indoor practice facility. Please keep all sharp objects in your pocket to avoid deflating it while we're inside.
Parent: did they forget to clean the football field, it looks awful dirty.
Tour guide: no sir: it's grey on purpose, we call it the factory.
Parent: I'm sending my son to college to keep him out of the factory!
Tour guide: but sir, you don't understand..............

Don't let him bait you Ken. Dip spends most of his time worrying about CMU and EMU as a way of deflecting the obvious issues that revolve around his own program.
Its been a couple days now, I expect to see a new CMU sucks thread or EMU is stupider than us thread anytime now.

Waldo...Waldo...Waldo. Please follow the thread so I don't have to explain the content to you.
Ken was talking about the "ambiance" at EMU and WMUlaw pointed out the Orange Taylor murder case. I added the Coed Killer aka John Normal Collins, who killed 5 coeds in the Ypsi area. I also added the silly dialogue about how they could exploit the dirt at a WMU orientation.
I guess it was too complicated for you to follow, and you went off one of your "high moral ground" tangents. "Ken, Dip hates EMU and CMU, and for some reason always goes down that road "
Anyhow Waldo, my apology. In the future I'll try and keep it simpler so you can follow along.

I detest EMU and CMU...but do have some weird respect for fans of EMU and CMU if they are true to their school and are not fanboys for UofM, ND, MSU, etc

RE: Drew interview with Mike Hart-------Great
That's why I'm glad Tubbs left. His obsession and hatred of Toledo was just over the top and too disrupting to the 99.9% who are here to talk sports.
In hindsight WMULaw and I shouldn't have cited the on campus murder and the serial killings at EMU. Five or six on campus murders is not an indicator of the "ambiance" of the Eastern Michigan or that it is a dangerous environment. Ten or twelve, well maybe. But five or six......... could happen anywhere. If I'm going to point out the dangers of EMU and CMU (where 7 players kicked a bar patron to death), then I should probably point out the dangers of going to NIU, where a student killed 6 people, although the student who did the killing was actually a social work grad from the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana. Then of course, there is Kent State where 4 students were shot down by the national guard during an anti war protest.
So again, I apologize for pointing out the killings at EMU, and hope I have leveled the playing field by pointing out other MAC schools where killings have taken place.

I'm with you on Calvin and Hope because there fan base is insufferable. GVSU I like and have attended a lot of their games. Though your analogy of tallest midget fits. I know a lot of good GVSU grads and fans.

Oh, they've had their scandals too. There was the Hope College peeping tom, the Calvin College serial jay walker, and of course the time that star basketball player Jon Vanderhootenshlooten was caught mowing his parents lawn on Sunday.
