I fully admit I am terrified of them. Rarely does contact with them result in anything positive for me.

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to tell you. I didn't either. They told me that I took the woofers out so that I wouldn't be caught with them. All I had were factory speakers which weren't any good in a '93 pickup truck and my stereo volume maxed out at 45, yet was only on 7 so I know they didn't hear it.

I actually ended up running into the guy a few months after the last incident where I was mistaken for him and he bought me a case of beer after I told him the stories because he admitted that it was him both times. Hell, I even got questioned by my girlfriend a few times because other good looking girls were waving and honking at me and thought I was that guy. The good ol "Who the f*ck are those b*tches" third degree talk from the GF. Ugh

I agree. I fear the cops because you never know why they pulled you over or what they are going to ask you to do.

It's a minority thing I guess.

people that are afraid of the cops most of the time have something to hide.

I'll fully admit, I'm always nervous when I'm pulled over or stopped by the police....the unknown I guess. I wouldn't say I'm terrified although I did have one instance in my teens where I was scared because of the seriousness in their eyes, the tone of their voices, and the way they approached the vehicle. I was in a vehicle with a couple high school buddies and one of my buddies' girlfriend was driving. Multiple police cars pulled us over, lights and sirens going. The police approached the car very cautiously. It was extremely unnerving. We all showed respect and did as they demanded. Evidently there'd been a robbery nearby and our vehicle matched the description and the driver of the get away vehicle was female.

That's the excuse they always use. I got pulled over once and they said that they pulled me over because my car had been reported stolen.

I hate it.

If I see lights behind me, I immediately pull over. This is the first sign that you are compliant. Has nothing to do with being a minority. You people that think cops are profiling you are living in a fantasy land. The cop that wrote me a ticket for my imaginary bass was black, he went as far as to tell me that I took my amp and speakers out of my truck, and even my parents could vouch that I was home that entire day before coming to Bossier City, and he still wrote me a $295.00 ticket. Never once did racial profiling cross my mind. He was just doing his job as a policeman. It's really not that hard to understand.

Not sure if you're replying to my post but in my story, I left off that the perpetrators were apprehended and I read about it in the paper the next day. It was eery how similar my buddies and the car were to the robbers. The girl that drove the getaway car was pure trash tho, unlike the hot girl driving our vehicle.

I used to be afraid of the cops because that's the way everyone in my neighborhood felt. Then, when in high school, I did a program where I got to do ride-alongs with the cops. Then, I had virtually no fear of them and realized just how dumb my fear actually was. After law school, I have ZERO fear of the cops (in fact, I understand them). They have a tough job to do.

The serious TRUTH is that a lot of minorities live in areas of high crime. People feel as if the police are always on their cases. But, a large part of that deals with the drugs, guns, and stolen property they possess and the crimes they commit (as compared to minorities living in better neighborhoods). IMO, people in these areas need to look to people in their neighborhood first before they start blaming the police.

If you guys get National Geographic and really want to see the type of crap these cops have to go through on a daily basis, especially in bigger cities, you need to set your DVR to record Drugs, Inc. You'll learn everything from the dealer's angle, and from the cop's angle. Very interesting.

I'm Hispanic and I'm always considered as "white". I went to donate blood this morning and under Ethnicity I was listed as white without even being asked. It is what it is.

And fwiw I've never been afraid of a cop that's stopped me for anything.
