Sounds exciting.

I bet he says stuff like we played great teams but when we lost we just didn't make shots while the other team did.

No mention of, "we need to be a better defensive team" will be made.

Pastner making it sound like it was Dom's decision to transfer. If true, bad news for UTK.

Pastner on Kedren Johnson. Not in shape. Now at 225 or 230 lbs needs to get down to 212 or so. Johnson knows this is his last chance and that he has to commit to his academic and basketball career. Talked with "many people" re Johnson before offering. We've turned down kids after doing due diligence. Some kids need stucture but if it doesn't work out with a kid then we'll part ways.

Pastner on Dom Woodson. Kedren Johnson and Dom Woodson situations are totally unrelated. Wilson going and Godfrey coming are also totally unrelated. Woodson had problems with emotion and with language around families / children (in stands). "He thought, we all thought" it (transfer) might be best for him. Woodson knew he had to walk a "fine line." Have no problem with Dom going to TN "if best for Dom." I think transfers should be decided 'case by case' (if Dom should sit out a year) and decide what's fair.

Pastner on Godfrey - rebounding numbers indicate he should be a good rebounder, especially on the offensive glass.

We have not done much work (practices) on switching yet with this team. We didn't shoot well from the 3 or FT. We'll have to work there. We need to get in better shape. A good sign was the offensive board.

Pastner on Nick King - you can count on the effort. Needs work on outside defense.

Mentions that they may be a zone team this season. I thought as much.

Mentioned that he didn't gameplan on defense at all. Man to man, don't switch on screens. Just the basics. That probably contributed a lot to the defensive troubles.

Spent a lot more time talking about our offensive shooting woes, however.

True, but I'm more concerned about Kedren. 230 now and weighed 215 while playing at Vandy. 15 lbs is quite a bit of additional weight is a lot. Especially for a guard.

He did say it was Dom's decision, but also made it sound like he would support Dom's waiver to play this season. I honestly expect he will get the waiver.

On another note, I thought the most interesting part of the interview was Pastner sad McGill was a bad team. Probably first and only time you'll hear that.
