Marshall could go unbeaten, but would need to blow opponents off the earth to top a 10-2 ECU, if strength of schedule actually matters.

(Strict geography would dictate sending ECU to Atlanta and Ohio State to Arlington, but the matchups we've arranged make much more sense, wouldn't you agree?)

That is the way Stuart Mandell had it as well. If SOS matters, then CUSA needs to perform above their pay grade in order for their champion to go to a big bowl. Or the AAC and MWC needs to have a terrible year and then the CUSA champion would need to go undefeated. Marshall, ULL and the MAC champions need to hope against hope that the AAC and MWC champions have at least 3 losses just to be safe; because 2 losses still leaves the AAC and MWC in the picture for the at large pick.
