According to this Fox Sports article.... McCarney is referring to UNT as "the Stanford of Conference USA". Not quite the meaning we would have interpreted.

And that could have been an apt description of us last year, as well. Ran the ball well...good defense...excellent special teams.

Let's see how their running game does against UT. BYU ran all over the longhorns last year...I still think we should have beat them last year.

Style of play MAYBE, but Stanford related in no other shape, manner, or form
