RE: 'It will happen:' Birmingham will get domed stadium with or w/o public approval
UAB asked for a new stadium and got a new president.

What school deserves a library when there is a perfectly good public library right down the street? A student rec center when there's a SportsPlex down the road? Air conditioning? Indoor plumbing... animals pee outside, why can't students?

The question really is why is this particular amenity being denied to UAB students and alum while it is standard fare at most if not every other state college, not to mention public high school in the state?
Would any university board in its right mind, in the South, in football crazy Birmingham, Alabama not jump on the chance to build a right sized stadium for a school that (IMO) has issues with student involvement, identity, and seeing alumni move all with little or no strong ties back to their school?
Would a board that was looking out for the best future interests of UAB approve such a plan? Yes, unanimously. The only reason a board would not do so, is if they have deep seated conflicts of interest.

I'd be careful about putting this on a public message board. The BOT might read it and see it as a cost cutting measure.
No worries...they are fully aware of that possibilty as evidenced by the line that sometimes forms outside UAT's library waiting to "go" behind the overgrown bushes on gamedays.

Get out of here.
You expect me to believe UAT has a LIBRARY?

Aw, c'mon, it's a university. You know damn well there's a library.
You expect me to believe that UA students can *find* the library?
