Also, Bowling Green's beat writer is real high on their team. Thinks the defense can be better than last year.

RE: Hustle Belt Season Preview
"McIntosh is probably the best runner, Hare the best passer, and Maddie is right in the middle. It's no wonder head coach, Rod Carey, is having a hard time choosing. However, there is a silver lining for whoever the quarterback is. The rest of NIU's offense is loaded."

"The Huskies will still have an electric offense, no matter who the quarterback is. They have two great runners in Daniels and Stingily, a trio of solid receivers, and the best offensive line in the MAC. That makes any QB's job much easier. "

Great point...all we really need is someone not to screw it up

Exactly. The less turnovers, the better - something Lynch and Harnish were great at.

IS McIntosh or Maddie the best runner? If it is McIntosh than this contest should have been over along time ago (unless he has been dinged up)

It's easily Maddie. McIntosh is the one who is right in the middle.

I know just commenting on the article. Maddie=best runner, worst passer. Hare=best passer, worst runner and McIntosh is in the middle of both categories.

I think the issue is Maddie is a couple steps below in passing but a couple steps above in running. McIntosh is a solid Runner/Passer. Hare has the best arm of the three but is it considerably better or is his running considerably below the other two.

Also the problem with spring and fall practice is the QBs do not get tackled so you can not truly judge their running ability till they are in real games. Both McIntosh and Hare have shown some running ability in mop up time

If it's really as close as ol' Rod is saying, it has to come down to who runs the offense best. Perhaps that's why all 3 will see time in the first game, perhaps with so little live action in practice he wants/needs to see them making the right reads.

Quote:Well, Akeem Daniels is back. After missing 2013 with a foot injury, the senior RB is finally healthy enough to play again, witch is good news for Huskie fans.

Be on the lookout for old women flying around on brooms. That's supposed to be a good thing.

Normally I'd take the middle too but I just wonder with the stable of running backs and a couple of great skilled receivers...the best passer is the way to go

The offense we run needs the threat of the QB run.

That was pretty much the break down I had in todays article:
