Jayrone Elliot
From Packers Fansided daily

Jayrone Elliott - Another undrafted rookie that had a huge game on the defensive of the ball was outside linebacker Jayrone Elliott. The converted college defensive end didn’t see the field until the fourth quarter, but he made the most of his opportunities. In one series, Elliott almost stopped the St. Louis offense single-handedly. On first-and-ten, Elliott got a second-chance sack after Austin Davis already evaded one Packers defender. Two plays later, Elliot burst off the edge and went nearly untouched to bring down the quarterback within seconds of the ball being snapped. On the very next play, Elliot showcased his quick burst again by blowing past the tackle and stripping the ball out of Davis’s hand to force the fumble. It was three impressive plays that will go a long way for final roster considerations.

Watched part of the Packers vs Raiders game tonite. I only saw parts of the 2nd half, but in one series he had a breakup and a sack. Pretty impressive.

Also, the QB, Gillette, from EMU is trying to make the team as a WR. Saw him pull in a tough catch in the end zone.

He is tied for the league lead in sacks. I know it's only preseason and not every team has played 3 games, but it is still cool to see.

Nice article from Milwaukee about Jayrone. This was written before last nights game, so the story only gets better.

I also like this quote from Jayrone:
Quote:That's one thing that drives me today, to show that guys from Toledo belong in this league.

Beat a Cinci grad last week and an Ill grad this week. He's garnering a lot of Internet buzz. It's nice but I imagine practice means more than does a few scrimmage snaps. Hope that is going well. Measurables, he's got them too. That wing-span should buy him attention. He'll land somewhere but Green Bay could sure use his defense and it would be a good place for him to make his name. Nice marriage.

got burned once in pass coveragebut was all over the backfield for a second straight game- 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack, 1 pass batted down, 1 quarterback hurry

Elliott drew a holding penalty. On the next play he recorded his 5th sack of the season.

He was fun to watch at Toledo. Glad to see him seize his opportunity in GB. From the interviews I've seen he appears to be a good guy too.

RE: Jayrone Elliot
Both retained undrafted are part of the mandatory 8 inactives as is the third QB. Packers are deep at LB. A bit surprised the Pennel is on the inactive, given the injury to Raji. Not finding anything implying Elliott was injured so hopefully just procedure.
