For all the Islam haters on the board, I wouldn't celebrate Maher being in your corner too much. He tends to say some pretty nasty stuff about Christianity and its propensity to cause violence as well.

While I'm not an "Islam hater", I agree that Maher is "nasty" towards Christianity. And I'm not "celebrating" his comment here. Just acknowledging that he has highlighted a significant distinction in the world, a distinction that a lot of Americans either won't admit, or are too blind to see.

That designation wasn't directed at you, my apologies if you thought it was.

I agree that there is a significant distinction in today's world between certain religions. However, if you pressed Maher to expound further on his comments on Islam, I suspect it would quickly devolve into a condemnation of all religion.
