NASSAU, Bahamas - The Louisiana Tech men's basketball team made easy work of the Pyramid Food Rockets late Monday Night as the Bulldogs won 134-52 inside Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium.
Michale Kyser, Erik McCree, Raheem Appleby, Kenneth Smith and Qiydar Davis got the start for LA Tech and helped the `Dogs jump out to a 60-26 lead at the half, surrendering only 13 points apiece in the two periods by the opposition.
Davis shined in his Bulldog debut as the junior college transfer poured in a team-high 22 points while also grabbing eight rebounds.
Other newcomers made a huge impact as well. Jacobi Boykins (14), Xavian Stapleton (19) and Dayon Griffin (18) each scored in double figures.
For the night, LA Tech shot 63 percent from the field and connected on 10 of 22 three-point attempts for a 45 percent clip.
Meanwhile, the defense harassed the Food Rockets all night by forcing 24 turnovers.
LA Tech will have a day off tomorrow to enjoy the island before getting back on the hardwood on Wednesday with its second exhibition game, a matchup versus the Bahamas All-Stars at 8 p.m. CT.
