I can't say I'm surprised. With them it was just a matter of time until we lost both. Both are excellent hockey minds. I have faith that AM can replace them well.

Great move for Fersch! Probably felt AM is not going to retire anytime soon. Lots of movement with the off ice side side of the team. 2 coaches and the long time equipment guy are gone. Can't wait to see who the new Asst. Coach will be. Important hire. Fersch was well liked by the players.

The orderly transition is complete. It's all Andy's program now.

Not sure I would consider losing a key associate coach a little over 30 days before your first game of the season as "orderly transition", but I do get your point about it being "Andy's program now"

I was aware Ferch had some pro job offers last year and I also heard of these same rumors from the golf outing. Not surprised, as he is well respected by his peers.

Only wished Murray had a little more time to fill this position

As opposed to, new coach comes in and immediately replaces all the assistants.

Im thinking AM will have his pick of up and comers Ill bet he has lot of applicants many looking for the chance to learn from a pro with NHL pedigree!

I just think his "candidate" pool would have been a lot bigger if it was March vs September.

Did WMU talk to Bonnett about filling Ferchweiler's position?
