Duquesne and Buffalo tied at 21 with about 5 minutes left in the third quarter.

Miami lost to Marshall 42-27.

UMass lost to BC 30-7.

Ohio leads Kent 14-7 in the 4th.

Morgan State and Eastern Michigan tied at 28 late in the 3rd.

And Eastern Michigan and their ridiculous field entry with the cinder block wall & sledgehammers made it onto the sports channel right after their top ten plays. That was awfully nice of them because I doubt many people saw it in person.

EMU and UMass will struggle. The rest of the MAC games seem winnable IMO. If things go well it could be a big week for the MAC. Or...

I'm afraid we'll be able to say that about Eastern and UMass just about every week.

And looking ahead, the non-conference game (not involving UT) I've been looking forward to is the September 13th matchup between Syracuse and the Chips in Mount Pleasant. Generally I root for the conference teams in non-league matchups but don't follow any one game more than another. But this one is different, for reasons I probably don't need to explain. But a question ...

I wonder if Syracuse is bringing the officials?

Bad news for the Cyclones. Iowa State wide receiver Quenton Bundrage is out for the year with an ACL injury.
