Cougar Fans: Houstons' High Hopes Hinge on Sophomore QB John O'Korn
I know its Bleacher Report...but, it's actually a well written article about O'Korn.
At a school made famous by high-flying offenses and prolific passing attacks, John O’Korn made the grade during his freshman season at the University of Houston.
O’Korn, a late-blooming but ultimately highly touted quarterback from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, chose Houston over home-state schools Central Florida and South Florida, as well as traditional power conference programs like Wisconsin, Mississippi and Louisville, to play for second-year head coach Tony Levine...

He chose Houston because we didn't offer him until almost the day of national signing day. Don't act like there was some battle. We thought we had another year and were getting Dwayne Lawson. He's a good qb and we should have offered sooner

UCF offer would be irrelevant, when he is hearing from SEC and B10 schools.

he passed up wisconsin, arkanas and missippi state, louisville. Arkansas's coach actually flew in person to meet okorn in his house in an attempt to get him to switch, and Syracuse all but basically offered him the starting job after they lost their original qb recruit, and their last qb got drafted and went all in on okorn (and piland still had 2 years when okorn came) but he would have gone to ucf if offered sooner? lets not act like ucf is some recruiting powerhouse especially before this season. you live in a top 3 recruiting state but recruit half your team from Georgia
we weren't losing okorn to anyone, him and our coach had already became extremely close before okorn ever played a down of high school football
also late EDIT: UCF offered him a full year before signing day around when Houston did, i just checked his offer dates, so im not sure where you are getting your info from

Not with UCF but there was a heavy and early enough push by Wisconsin and Syracuse to steal him away.
There was a feeding frenzy his senior year but he stayed true to our staff and his commitment.

You're confusing O'Korn with Paxton Lynch from the year before. O'Korn's a good QB, but UCF had sights on Justin Holman and Pete DiNovo, and got both.

Not true. We stole a bama recruit last year and out recruited Nebraska gtech and Wisconsin. That was all last year
