ND Tickets?
I'm considering a trek to South Bend for the opener. A couple of questions...for a non-season ticket holder like myself, what's the easiest/best way to go about getting tickets (obviously preferably in the Rice section)? Second, are there any organized pre-game activities for Rice alums Saturday morning?

And on the off chance that anyone on the Parliament is making the trip from somewhere along the I-65 corridor, let me know.

I'd start by calling the Rice ticket office.

That's my plan this morning once they open up. Living in N. AL, not a whole lot of games particularly close (UAB is pretty much it), so trying to make it to this one. How epic will it be to say that you were there the day Rice upset Notre Dame in South Bend?04-rock

So true. Wish I could be there.

And here's the info on the ARA/OwlClub-sponsored, pregame tailgate, which begins at 1:00pm EST (with kickoff scheduled for 3:30pm EST)...

https://online.alumni.rice.edu/default.a...entID=1921

...already 170 registered, and I believe that number does NOT include those from Houston signed up for the all-inclusive, package (charter jet, hotel, transportation, tailgate, game tickets)...which would mean we're up to well over 200 at this point.

Interesting to see that the tailgate and game ticket package is sold out. Guess my group was lucky to get one. I didn't think it would sell out.

Not sure it's actually sold out. Rather, the deadline for signing up and paying was either last Friday or Saturday, I believe...so, consequently, the package deal is no longer available. Keep in mind, that package deal (tailgate + game tickets) was only put together by the ARA for alums and supporters who are not OwlClub members...and you'll note that there was no savings in purchasing the package ($115) vs. buying the game ticket ($70) and tailgate ($45) separately.

Just to avoid any confusion, tailgate tickets alone are not only still available for registration online, but walkups on game day will be welcome for $5.00 more ($50).

I bought the ticket & tailgate package, and haven't received my tickets yet. I get nervous earlier than I should. Has anyone gotten their tickets yet?

I got the tickets for the game last week. Like most, I bought them thru the OWL ticket office as a by product of my season tickets.
Signed up for the tailgate separately.

Thanks for the responses. Hmm... sounds like maybe I should give the ticket office a call!

Yes, we're in Gate B Section 13 Row 17. I think we're all on the Rice side, between the goal line and 10-yard line.[/align]

They must have run out of seats in that section, because my seats (via the tailgate deal) are in section 114 (second deck, same corner).

I think we have that entire corner, with those purchasing the charter package and other early ticket purchases getting the lower seats.

We have 4 seats in section 114. If you google notre dame and your section you can get a view from your seats pretty easily.

Good grief! Those ND folks are great!
Just checked and my tickets are in Section 13, too. If those seats are between the goal line and the 10 it'll be the first Rice away game in forever that I haven't had seats in or behind the end zone. All last year it was end zone or beyond.

Given we're already close to 200 registrants for the tailgate, not including those signed up for the charter package, my guess is we'll be at least 300+ strong.
