So I'm hopeful it could be Temple over Vandy, but I think it will be UCF over Penn State.
Are you really giving Memphis a puncher's chance against UCLA? And you are saying that Tulane should beat Georgia Tech and that ECU should beat VT in Blacksburg, VA?
IMO the Tulane v. Ga. Tech and the ECU v. VT games are best puncher's chances, but probably should be moved to hopeful (Bud Foster owns Lincoln Riley). As for the Memphis v. UCLA game; I think that Memphis is going to be better, but UCLA is ranked 7th in most preseason polls. On top of that the game is in the Rose Bowl. UCLA is really, really good.

GT is never very good. Tulane will be electric with the opening of the new sold out stadium. I do believe Tulane has a better than puncher's chance due to the matchup and atmosphere.
VT is also pretty bad. The fact that they may end up with 9 or 10 wins is more a reflection of how terrible that side of the ACC is and their favorable draw from the other division.
As for Mem/UCLA I think the matchup is favorable. Memphis has a frustrating and physical defense, which is something not often faced in the PAC (outside of Stanford). If the game is close at the half (which I think it will be), I expect UCLA to get loose with the ball in the 2nd half and it could be anyone's game.
That "pretty bad" Virginia Tech team has only lost to ECU once in the past decade and we play them almost every year.
Not to mention any QB is a step up from Logan Thomas. At best, I'd rate the game as a toss up.
To make things even harder for ECU, the game is played at Lane Stadium this year. Lane Stadium is on every list of top 10 places with the biggest home field advantage.

Had not even sniffed a rumor about this. Seems like something that would be hard to hide
Not really. I heard this about a month ago and dismissed it. This was mentioned to the players by the staff soooo. Hard to tell one way or the other because there has only been on 30 min open practice to the media so far
