It is interesting that Strong did not bring more assistants with him. But once Strong made that decision, it makes more sense that others would not want the leftovers. If they were any good, Strong would have brought them along, right?

Maybe. Or maybe those guys didn't have recruiting experience in Texas and that's the reason Strong left them behind.

Hitting the nail on the head.

OT: I am wondering if Strong will still be with UT after next year, Muschamp not doing well at UF and with Strong's familiarity with Florida recruiting seems to make it a no-brainer.

I think Louisville fans largely expected Strong to either go to Florida or even South Carolina. Texas took us utterly off guard.

He took coordinators Vance Bedford & Shawn Watson to Texas along with Brian Jean-Mary.

Petrino retained none of the other six assistants.

I would have thought several of them would be highly sought after, but I was wrong.

DL coach Clint Hurtt joined the Chicago Bears staff. Ron Dugans caught on with USF. Everyone esle landed in FCS or bottom of the barrel FBS:

Dave Dorbely OL Coach ended up at CSU-Pueblo
Kenny Carter RB Coach ended up at Youngstown St
Sherrone Moore TE Coach ended up at Central Michigan
Tommy Restivo DB Coach ended up at South Carolina State

Anyone else find that weird? The head coach does so well that UT hires him, and 44% of the staff ends up in crap jobs?

It's Borbely and I know his daughter randomly.
