This will piss off the ECU fans.

And no, I don't believe any non-P5 team will ever make the playoffs.

Nope, expected it after they ranked us 75th.

Edit: this did piss me off though, just shows his arrogance like 5 other errors in the article

2 AAC teams, 1 MWC team (and it isn't even Boise), and 1 CUSBCA team (ranked such because of their impossibly low SoS).

Business as usual. 07-coffee3

I do how they act that now Rutgers is big lose for the AAC. Sure we don't replace UofL, but ECU and Tulane are are equal or better than Rutgers. But, this little no different the BE was treated by ESPN. Nothing new really.

Not having the NY market is where it hurts. Certainly not competitiveness.

Uhh... maybe ECU, but no way Tulane. Sorry. Rutgers was down last year, but over the past 10 years they've been a very respectable program with some damn good players.

Also, didn't they pack a 50,000 seat stadium? ECU can compensate somewhat for one of Louisville or Rutgers, but not both.

Tulane + Tulsa, if you go by the numbers... well that's the only thing I don't like about the adds, but the evidence says that they were the best adds that could be had. So more power to them

Not that well-researched. They say that UCF opens at home against Penn State, but that game is a neutral-site game in Ireland.

UCF is the "Worlds" team so it is a home game.

At least espn seems to think so. Here is who they think who could crash the playoff party. 2 AAC teams and an affiliate. Byu. Hopefully that helps with SOS

Unfortunately proving to do little research and being an overall poor writer won't do much for that douchecanoe's stock.

Yeah Rutgers is a weak school compared to the rest of the Big 10 and a terrible add for the them but to say that Tulane is equal if not better than Rutgers??? Are you such a homer that you can't see reality clearly? Or did you just start following college football last year? Seriously, answer for yourself. Rutgers has 10 times the program Tulane has.

I was just referring to the rip on ECU by ESPN. I wasn't saying anything, I think ECU has a pretty good football program.

If Aresco stopped at 10 w/ ECU, this is what our league would've looked like:

UCF
UCONN
USF
Houston
SMU
ECU
Memphis
Temple
Cincinnati
Navy

A round robin of these teams from any school's point of view beats the crap out of any of the other 'g5' league schedules, championship game or not.

RE: ESPN: 5 teams from non-P5 conferences with chances at the playoffs
It means nothing. Its preseason and its something to talk about but it will all be determined on the field. Marshalls schedule is horrible and I see them losing one or two games even with the horrible schedule. We play a tough non conference schedule so I understand why people would want to believe that we couldnt come out of that alive. On the other hand the aac schools are not that unfamiliar to our program so the transition might not be as difficult as you might expect. We all have grand expectations for what the season might hold and it would be great for the league to have multiple schools in the running for a major bowl but dont discount us.
