Question on WV future schedules
I wanted to know from any WV fans about your future schedule after 2009. According to ECU sites, we play you all through 09 at WV and then don't have schedule anymore at least through 2013 (we do have open dates TBA in 2011,2012,and 2013 but our 2010 is booked up for OOC) but don't have you all scheduled as yet. This is not meant to be an expansion thread so hopefully tigershark won't bust up here and try to derail the thread, but was wondering what WV schedule was for those years; got any open dates still in 11,12,and13 that may continue the series or is it just ending?

Supposely, our AD will add back some of the big name games we use to have before our previous AD wanted to downgrade our OOC schedule for cusa play.

Your thoughts WV fans?

We have two open dates in 11, three in 12, and four in 13. There is some uncertainty about whether or not the Maryland series will be continued beyond the current contract, but that could potentially continue into 12, 13, and beyond. The Marshall series is up in 2012, but may continue beyond that.

There is certainly room for ECU in those years and it wouldn't surprise me to see them on the schedule. We've played ECU more often than not in the past and I don't see any reason why that wouldn't continue. Although I imagine the series will continue on a 1 for 1 basis instead of the current 3 for 2 sort of thing we've got going on now.

I have concerns about the future of the WVU/ECU series....I really think that series depends on what happens with the WVU/Marshall game. No one is really sure if the state is going to continue to force the game or if this is just a one contract deal. Gov Manchin will be out of office when the contract expires so we will have to see what happens. Hopefully MU will be in a better financial situation anyway and thus not need the game to be played. If the state is hell-bent on the series, then my guess is the WVU/ECU game disappears. From our perespective its probably not wise to play two CUSA teams every year. I don't want to see that happen, but I think that's the reality of the situation

I'd rather see the Mountaineers schedule soem more SEC, Big 10, or other BCS conference opponents. The day of lesser foes should come to an end if WVU wants to be taken seriously on the national stage.

The BIG question is how many of those SEC, Big10 teams are WILLING to sign a series where they have to go to Morgantown? The answer will probably be between FEW and NONE.
