2nd team All-America at Northwestern - I seem to recall him as a pretty heavy Rice recruit.

Looks like a Nwosu situation, where he won't have to sit out a year if he enrolls in grad school. I'm not sure if he has 1 or 2 years eligibility left, since he might've gotten a medical redshirt in previous season. Lead the Big 10 in all purpose yards. Would be a great get for anybody. He says he wants to transfer to a school close to his home in Houston, so Rice should be a good candidate.

The ESPN article I read said he had to sit out this year and return in 2015. As badly as UH needs a RB, I think he'd be featured better in Rice's offense.

I thought I read he still had 1 course pending to get a Northwestern degree, so I don't think he qualifies for the grad degree exception.

I also wonder if he could transfer to A&M or UT, being relatively close to Houston. Or whether he sits out this year and just applies to the NFL. Not sure he has a pro future as a smaller back/returner, but you never know.

As a Northwestern alum, I'm sad he's leaving NU. I would love to have him at Rice, though!

Here's a report saying he's interested in Texas Tech and some DII schools. It says his mother lives in Lubbock now, which lessens his connection to Houston. Seems like it'll be tough for him to be immediately eligible in DI.

The article said he'd considered Baylor & UH, among other schools.

"But I couldn't gamble with my last year with no guarantees," Mark said. ... "I will get my Northwestern degree," Mark said. "The is no bad blood with Northwestern at all. Me and Coach Fitz [Pat Fitzgerald] still talk. We are still family."
