Sam Hairston

Those of you who were with us in CUSA in the late 90s might remember him.

Couldn't have said it better, so I'll just echo the sentiments! Lifting them up in prayer!

Global War on Terrorism Service Medal

Among his qualifications are the:

He gave his life for our country. It doesn't get any more honorable than that.

Prayers to his family and friends.

I'm hoping we offer some sort of tribute to him at the stadium opener.

Sad anytime someone in the US Military loses their life fighting for us.

Prayers go out to him and all the others.

God Bless.

They may do a moment of silence, but the "tribute" to him will be at a different game.

He was a real All-American. As the saying goes: Freedom isn't free.

I send out my prayers to his family and the Houston family.

God Bless.

RE: We lost a great Coog
It's so sad when a young man loses his life fighting for his country; and, it brings a true sense of comfort for the loved ones who continue on in life. I didn't realize that I would be so moved by reading condolences from others for this brave Cougar hero. I'm sure that Sam's family is feeling the tremendous outpouring of love for their lost member. I don't think that it's my place, but thank you to our conference mates' words.

I got a sick feeling when I read this. When I saw his portrait picture next to him in his uniform I could not stop tears. If I were his mom I would be forever empty, and overwhelmingly proud. Prayers sent.

We lost a great Coog
God bless him and more importantly his family. As a military brat my dad fought in five conflicts or wars. I know what it's like to wait for a loved one. Luckily I never went through this. This guy was a ranger and he was with the 82nd in one of our most storied companies. He was one of the nations finest and literally on the front line several times over. Prayers to his family and god bless those that knew him.
