I thought children were drinking their parents blood to survive on the Moutain ... But now???

US finds too few Yazidi's in Mountains to justify Rescue Mission.

WASHINGTON: U.S. declares Yazidi intervention a success, says rescue mission unneeded | Iraq | McClatchy DC

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2014/08/13/23...it-to.html Wrote:The Pentagon said the visit proved that the actions the United States had taken in recent days had succeeded in preventing the Islamic State from capturing and executing the Yazidis, members of a religious sect that Sunni extremists view as heretics. It said the assessment team encountered no hostile forces during its visit and “did not engage in combat operations.”

Obama spoke. Problem solved.

I'm sure the military will be happy to walk away from an ill-defined, probably ill-advised mission, regardless of what they have to say about politicians.

I don't really think ISIS intended to slaughter all of the Yazdis or Christians so long as they leave.

Maybe, but if I was a Yazidi I wouldn't have wanted to take that chance.

So now we know the number of people Obama deems as being expendable: 3,000.

That number grew substantially since Benghazi.

Not any more than what Bush thought expendable, and those were our own soldiers.

Exactly - I think that's why they cut a few five year old boys in half.

ISIS is a scourge upon the world and on human civilization. If there is such a thing as humanity then they do not have it.

Actually the USAF Airlifter build up at Turkish airbases over the past week might have something to do with events on the North Coast of the Black Sea, especially if these reports of "Russian Peacekeepers" massing on the Eastern Border of the Ukraine continue.

I don't see a US Military Intervention, but an airlift of 1000 Javelin ATGM into Kiev might be appreciated.
