Article on G5 struggles
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/14/sports...ports&_r=1
A great article about the struggles of Fresno State. You could replace the words Fresno with Old Dominion throughout the article and it would be very close to accurate still. Worth the read. I've hear Wood express the same concerns about increased scholarships and transfer without penalty. If those happen, it may be game over for the G5. Yeah, they get a team in the playoff every year, but its so rigged against them they'll have next to no chance.

We get a team in one of the major bowls every year but not the playoff.

Any story where Thomas Boeh is quoted automatically ends up in the trash bin. That guy, even with whatever awards he has, is a giant douchenozzle.

Article on G5 struggles
second most unprofessional, antagonistic and manipulative AD I've ever had the displeasure of ever dealing with. When Fresno State dropped wrestling, he continually refused interview requests and when he agreed to finally do one via email, he changed the questions, deleted questions entirely and then provided answers to questions I wasn't answering. He also the plagiarized my story, further modified questions and posted it as an FAQ about dropping wrestling. He is told a member of the team "wrestlers are bad people" the day they cut the sport. He tried to cut the sport unsuccessfully at Ohio U but since wrestling had 13 MAC championships and all other sports combined for four, the a Admins nixed the idea.
Don Lemish (Longwood) was the worst AD I've ever dealt with followed by refusals by Trev Alberts and Pat Kilkenny ... their smug arrogance puts them in the same vein.

The reality of this article is such a downer... As is ebola and Putin.
Let's think about this Kazakh volleyball player instead.

This, gentlemen, is why ODU needs a women's volleyball team ASAP.
Well, Title IX as well; but mostly the above.
